Our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly in the actions of our initiatives. From the moment we started our work in December of 2023, we understood that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to start with our idea of Diversity Dance Company.
We strive to make a positive change in all of our pursuits.

Diversity Dance Company was established in the winter of 2023 by Artistic Director and Founder Maria Gerasimou K and Co-Founder Polina Panagiotou.
​
It was by simple thoughts about the difficulties we go through as dancers and followed by deeper conversations in the course of time.
​
About not having as many opportunities to show who we are and what we can offer, especially in Cyprus, about not being accepted as diverse dancers, about not getting chosen for other dancers creations, the denial of others and even the acceptance of this difference.
So why not create our own thing together?

We tried to figure out a name that represents us, as human beings and who we are as dancers and the main topic of our conversation was right there in front of us: Diversity!

We wanted to create something that would bring us happiness and that could show our identities. Something that eventually will grow and bring the opportunities that all of the dancers crave and need to have. Something that can share a beautiful message to everyone and to ourselves. That no matter the difference of the dancer your are, the colour, the race, the culture, the choices of life, the dreams, YOU are still unique and YOU always have something beautiful to share with the world.
